《月球城市》讀後感

月球,自古是人類嚮往的地方。她是人類首個踏足的地外天體。然而,她卻不像火星般有著不可擋的吸引力。她沒有大氣(其實有,不過極度稀薄),而且永遠用同一面向著地球,因此在月球上你不會看到地出。

在《月球城市》故事裡,即使人類仍需活在由玻璃和鋼鐵建成的城市裡,呼吸不可或缺的氧氣,你會發現安迪‧威爾筆下的月球有著無比生氣。原來氧氣在月球竟是用之不竭的,甚至多得不知道該往哪裡放。在安迪的描寫下,明明每件事情都是如此合乎科學原理,讀起來卻又有著高度科幻感。

《月球城市》並不是一個會出現激光劍和粒子炮的故事。《月球城市》是一部徹徹底底的寫實小說,生動地描述這個本來就是虛構的月球都市的一點一滴。故事主角也不是什麼英雄,她跟你和我一樣,有自己的生存之道、生活方式、更有自己的煩惱和遺憾。故事沒有大義凜然的主旨,只有她希望完成的一個小小心願,一個在某程度上可說是自私的願望。

能把科幻故事寫得科學,非常難。而能把人性放於一個科學的科幻故事中,絕無僅有。《月球城市》能讓我嘗到這種稀有的感覺。

David Yu is the father of Simba and an Astrophysicist. He obtained his PhD in Astrophysics from the Max Planck Institute of Extraterrestrial Physics, Germany. He was formerly a postdoc at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and is currently a lecturer at the University of Hong Kong.
